Circle C Youth & Family Services Plans
2006 Summer School Program |
| Pittsburgh · April
2006. Circle C's Title I Summer School
Program will add a Shop Class to this
year's curriculum. A Career Exploration
Series will also be continued for a second
year. Students will interview successful
individuals from a variety of professions
in front of the student body. The experience
provides them with a first-hand look at their
guests’ early
aspirations, the relevance of their high
school and post-secondary education, and
practical insight in to their daily activities,
benefits and challenges. Now in it's third
year, the Robotics Lab continues to be an
exciting learning experience, teaching students
how to apply math, science and engineering
principles. The Circle C Summer School Program
is funded through Title I and employs certified
teachers. In addition to robotics, there
are also classes in math, social studies,
English and reading. Class size is generally
about 7 students so children receive much
individual attention. Pre and post testing
shows that significant gains are made in
math and reading levels.
