Having been successful in other placements, these residents are ready to begin preparations for self-reliance. Staff members use a mentoring approach to provide comprehensive life-skills training in such areas as educational and vocational goal-setting and implementation, job search and interview skills, house management, use of community resources, and the value of community service.
